About Zak’s Kombucha

Zak’s Kombucha is an independent, fast-growing kombucha brewery based in the rural outskirts of Wye, Kent. We’re committed to brewing high-quality, small-batch kombucha with bold flavours, real ingredients, and a focus on health, sustainability, and local community. As we expand production, we’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Brewer to support day-to-day operations and help us keep up with growing demand.

The Role

You’ll be working closely with our Head Brewer and Production Team to assist in all stages of the kombucha brewing process — from tea brewing and fermentation to bottling and packaging. This is a physical, practical role that would suit someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in attention to detail, and is interested in fermentation or food and drink production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with brewing large batches of tea and preparing ingredients

  • Help transfer kombucha between fermentation, mixing, and carbonation vessels

  • Support bottling, kegging, and labelling processes

  • Clean and sanitise brewing equipment and production areas to food-safe standards

  • Maintain detailed production records and follow procedures accurately

  • Assist with stock management and packaging organisation

  • Help load deliveries and prepare wholesale orders as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • A positive, reliable, and hard-working attitude

  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work, lifting (up to 25kg), and being on your feet for long durations

  • Previous experience in brewing, food/drink production, or hospitality is a bonus — but not required

  • Interest in kombucha or fermentation is a plus

  • Must be over 18 and eligible to work in the UK

  • Having a UK Drivers licence and access to a vehicle is a must as we operate in a remote area where public transportation has limited accessibility.

Perks & Benefits

  • Free kombucha and staff discounts

  • £500 annual budget for work-related educational course/workshop of your choice (after 3-month probation)

  • Pension scheme

  • Opportunity to learn about fermentation, brewing, and food safety standards

  • Be part of a growing ethical business with a supportive, collaborative team

  • Potential for more hours and growth within the company as the business expands
